The Beach YYC Overview
The Beach YYC is Calgary’s only indoor beach volleyball and recreation facility. We are open year round, providing a space where all Calgarians can be active.
We offer a variety of beach volleyball leagues for all skill levels. Each league has two time slots on different nights, at 6:30 and 8:15 PM with 2’s leagues TBD. Once you register for a league you will always play on that day at that time. Each night consists of two 45 minute matches, each as a best of three contest.
Determining Your Level of Play
Are you new to beach volleyball, or do you want to play in a more recreational level? This league is just for you! Play for fun, have a good time, and get sandy!
No jump serves and no spikes. Most people are comfortable serving underhand, and some people may serve overhand. 2 women and 2 men on the beach at all times.
Want to play at a bit of a higher level? 4’s gives you extra room to run around, bump, set, and spike! Dives to the sand are not uncommon, so lay out and get sandy!
Some people are able to jump serve, and spikes are allowed.
All leagues are coed and require a minimum of 1 female and 1 male. 4’s requires at least 3 people to play.
Intermediate Plus is for a higher level of play, please register for the league that best suits your team.
You know who you are! Come play against your friends, new and old. Layout digs are common, and most rallies are bump, set spike.
Jump serves and spikes are common.
Coed requires a minimum of 1 female and 1 male. 4’s requires at least 3 people to play.

Monday: 6:30: Beach 3’s 8:15: Rec 6’s
Tuesday: 6:30 Intermediate 4’s
We are looking into early running AM leagues or drop-in options for competitive 4’s or 2’s.
Morning openings are on Tuesday and Friday, with doors at 6:30 AM. If you are interested, reach out and we will make it happen!
Get a few digs in, have a shower, and get back to the grind (almost) on time!
Rec 6’s team fee: $800 for our 9 week season and includes 1 week of playoffs.
Monday league runs from April 8th – June 17th*.
Int. 4’s team fee: $650 for our 10 week season and includes 1 week of playoffs.
Tuesday league runs from April 9th to June 11th, and Thursday league runs from April 11th to June 13th.
Int. 3’s team fee: $500 for our 9 week season and includes 1 week of playoffs.
Monday league runs from April 8th to June 17th.*
*No games on Easter Monday or May long Monday.
Registration Times and Dates
Registration opens eight weeks before the start of the league season, and will close either when the league fills up, or three days before the league starts. Each league has room for 10 teams.
We will keep one team for the Rec and Intermediate leagues for people to join who don’t have their own complete team. If you have any questions about where you should register, don’t hesitate to ask.
